Christmas Prep

We only ventured as far as the grocery store today. Just like they would be on Christmas Eve at home, the stores were packed, but the aisles are so much smaller that it felt far worse...plus we didn't know where anything was so we added to the chaos.

Had to go to a second store to find unsweetened gelatin and a third store to get sherry (how funny that Washington State finally made it legal to buy liquor in grocery stores, and here we are back in the craziness of having to slink into a liquor store like bad people just to get sherry for a trifle!

With all the groceries successfully acquired, we returned home. DS and HS came over with kayaks and headed to the beach in front of the house with DC, MC, and KC. All returned happy but well shaken up by the surf!

In the meantime, I made a trifle. And an overflow trifle...it's hard finding big enough serving dishes in a rental house!
